Pierre Baldi (co-PI) and I (PI) got awarded an NSF grant for studying to what extent the Aspect-Oriented Programming hypothesis is valid. The official note of the award is here. We (that is, some of our wonderful students) are going to perform a large-scale analysis of open source projects and parts of their evolution, using Sourcerer as the main data gathering tool. We're going to use a variety of methods, including topic modeling and information theory. This is going to be a particularly interesting project for me, given my involvement with AOP in its early times.
